The Rohingya Photographic Society creates opportunities for Rohingya photographers to share their perspectives, showcase their creativity, and have their work recognized.

Our photography competitions encourage visual storytellers to capture meaningful moments, experiences, and stories from their communities.

PAST COMPETITION

Theme: Daily Life in the World’s Largest Refugee Camp

We invited Rohingya photographers to share powerful and authentic images that capture the everyday realities, resilience, and humanity of Rohingya refugees living in the camps of Bangladesh.

Submission Period

August 1–15, 2026

Eligibility

Open exclusively to Rohingya photographers.

Image Requirements

  • Original photographs only.
  • Images must be unedited and in full color.
  • JPEG format.
  • File size between 2MB and 5MB.
  • Include a descriptive caption for each photograph.

Photography With Integrity

Authenticity

All submitted photographs must be the original work of the participant.

Responsible Photography

Photographers should respect the dignity, privacy, and safety of the people and communities they document.

Truthful Representation

Images and captions should represent events and experiences honestly.

Respect & Consent

Participants are encouraged to consider appropriate consent and the potential impact of publicly sharing photographs.

Guiding the Selection

Meet the photographers and photography professionals who reviewed the competition entries and helped select this year’s winners.

Yassin Abdumonab

Award-winning journalist, producer, and documentarian whose work focuses on powerful visual storytelling and social activism. As an international award winner for both documentary and photography, Yassin is dedicated to capturing stories of resilience and human experience.

Ro Mehrooz

Award-winning Rohingya photographer and storyteller whose work focuses on capturing life within its environment or its absence. His work was featured in the British Museum exhibition “Burma to Myanmar” in 2023.

Zaw Naing

Photography enthusiast with over 20 years of experience in the photographic industry. Previously a Product Manager for a leading photographic brand, developing extensive knowledge in cameras and lenses.
